Craft bursaries are awarded in June each year.
Applicants
must be professional makers working in Scotland. The
purpose of the bursaries is to help established artists to develop
their skills or a particular aspect of their work. Bursaries
are not awarded to students. Applicants must
have an established career history in their current craft of
at least 5 years.
The recipient of a bursary will be expected to demonstrate that
a practical result has been achieved through the award. Each
bursary is for a sum of £5000. This is paid in three instalments,
normally over a three month period, the final payment being subject
to a short report from the recipient of the bursary, explaining
how the award had been used and demonstrating that the specific
application, for which the application was made, has been achieved.
There is no set application form. Applicants should submit a
brief description (not more than 500 words) of work currently
being undertaken. Examples, photographs or slides may be submitted
and will be returned. An outline (not more than 750 words) of
the particular aspect which they would like to develop using
the award, should be submitted.
The application should be accompanied by a brief CV.
Applications should be submitted by 30th April to the
Trust at 2 Blacket Place, Edinburgh EH9 1RL
